Womenade Elects Board of Directors
Womenade, a local charitable organization aimed at helping children at daniel, announced it has elected a new board of
directors.
Judy Hicks of Remax Real Estate will remain as the organization's founder and president.
Kathy Timmons of CTX Mortgage and Kathie Lee Menninger of Copperfield USA will serve as first and second vice chairwoman, respectively.
Cynthia Montello of The Montello Agency will serve as secretary, while Franchesca Tarleton of Homes and
Land of Northeast Florida will take over as treasurer.
Hicks founded Womenade in 2002 with the help of a
close-knit group of her most steady and trusted friends, including Kathie Lee Menninger, Kathy Timmons, Marybeth Hicks and Mary
Jury.
"I wanted to do something different for the children at daniel, which could raise enough money for things
that cannot necessarily make their budget," Hicks said. "Our mission statement really shows what we want for the kids. We want
them to know that there is a big, new world out there waiting for them, but they have to be prepared and they must dream big."
Womenade meets approximately every two months for an event of food, networking and friendship. Members and guests
bring donations of at least $30 and Chef Cheryl of Heirlooms Chef Designed Meals caters food.
"The food is
fabulous, and we really get to know each other on a more personal level," Hicks said. "We've developed some very strong friendships
in the group and everyone strongly believes in what Womenade stands for."
In addition to its bi-monthly
meetings, Womenade holds various events throughout the year in order to raise proceeds for daniel. The charitable organization's next event is
the Second Annual Dinner, Networking, and Shopping Womenade Event on Nov. 15 at the Trident model home at Palencia.
